2011

We have had a pretty busy (but good) year.  

Adam:  Adam is still at Mercer over in Louisville, KY.  Crossing the bridge everyday with having one bridge down going into downtown had made for a long drive into work.  What used to be a 15 minute drive has sometimes turned into a hour and a half drive in.  But he's managing.  The biggest news for Adam this year was he FINALLY graduated from IUS (Indiana University Southeast) with a Bachelors in Business.  In church, Adam serves as one of the Sunday School teachers for the youth.

Me (Beth):  I'm still at Feeders Supply, and will have been there 5 years this April.  I really enjoy working there with the regular customers and all the pets coming in.  I began this year pregnant (and sick) and had our 3rd child on June 29.  I currently don't have a calling in church but have been helping out a lot with the primary lately.








Tavin:  Tavin turned 3 with a Scooby-Doo party.  His biggest accomplishment is being potty trained.  He had learned his ABC's, shapes and colors.  We're working on recongnizing names and certain words.
















Riley:  Riley turned 3 with a Strawberry Shortcake party.  (Yes, there were 2 different themes).  Riley also is now potty trained, although the beginning for her was pretty rough.  She is very opinionated and really did not want anything to do with the toilet.  She is also learning her ABCs, shapes, and colors, but doesn't have too much interest in learning to recongnize names.

 

 

Hunter:  Hunter entered this world on June 29, which was 5 days past his due date, at 8:07 am.  He has been such a joy to have at home.  Tavin and Riley are so good with him.  Its amazing to see how big he gets with each passing week.

Huber's Pumpkin Patch

So we took the kids to the pumpkin patch up at Huber's on Saturday.  Of course, it was Hunter's first time, but it wasn't new to the twins.  We went with our good friends Jon & V and their new baby, Jordan.  After a chilly start at the pumpkin patch, we finally picked out our pumpkins. 

After picking out our pumpkin, we took a walk up to the family farm area.  We let the kids feed the animals there.  Adam even joined in the fun!

There were some baby goats, and one of the workers let the kids hold one of them.  Riley just wanted to love on him!

Hunter was enjoying watching his big brother and big sister run around and feed the animals.  He's learning what he gets to do when he gets bigger!

This is a list of funny things the kids have said/done.  I'll update it as time goes.

On Easter, riley walked up to me with her dollars she had found in her easter eggs, and handed me the money.  Then she said "here you go mommy, now you can stay home with me and don't have to go to work"

I was reading the kids the kid version of the scriptures, and told the twins the story of creation and how he made the earth, animals, and then adam and eve.  Riley looks at me and says "mommy, its supposed to be beth".  i ask what she means and she said, "your name isn't eve!"

Riley came into the living room and said, I pottied in my playhouse.  So we get up to see what she means, and this is what we found....

Me:  Tavin, quit playing with the door handle.
Tavin:  Why?
Me: Because the door might open and you will fall out.
Tavin: I won't fall out.  I'm wearing my seatbelt.

After taking turning playing with the doodle pad, Tavin wanted his turn.  Riley put it on the floor and said "You'll never get it now, hahahah!"

A brief overview

Here is a brief overview of our family....


Adam was born in Seattle, WA. He moved around quite a bit growing up due to his dad being in the coast guard. They finally settled down in Sellersburg, IN. He graduated from New Albany High School in 2003. He graduated with his bachelors degree in business in May 2011. He is currently working at Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

I (Beth) was born in Salt Lake City. I lived in Modesto, CA until I was about 9, then moved out to Radcliff, KY when my dad got a new job at FT. Knox. I graduated from John Hardin High School in 2004. I've been working at Feeders Supply Pet store since April 2007.

Adam and I met at a youth dance when he was 16 and I was 15. We continued talking off and on for those years and began seriously dating in Aug. 2005. We were engaged in Oct. 2005 and got married on July 28, 2006.

In January of 2008, I got pregnant. After about 2 weeks of being extremely sick, I ended up in the ER due to dehydration. And then again 3 days later. With as sick as I was, they decided to admit me and keep me overnight for observation. The next morning they did an ultrasound to see if there was a reason I was so sick. There was......

TWINS!!!!



On Sept 5, 2008, Tavin Paul and Riley Sophia were born. Tavin was 5 lbs 6 1/2 oz. and 19 in long. Riley was 5 lbs 9 1/2 oz and 18 in long. Riley had to stay in the nursery under observation the entire time we were at the hospital due to having breathing problems. Once we got home, things got interesting. Adam had to go back to school and I was at home with 2 tiny babies. Luckily my mom was able to come and stay with us during the week to help out. As time went on, she didn't have to stay with us quite as long during the week, but she still came to watch them during the days that I had to work.

We had a lot of fun over the first couple years, and then decided to add to our family. In Oct. 2010 we found out we were pregnant with baby #3. As luck would have it, I got sick....again. Luckily the worst of it was done after the first couple of months, and then it was manageable.

During my pregnancy, we also decided to take our first family vacation. We took the twins to Gatlinburg, TN. We met up with Adam's sister Rebekah, her husband, and their son Andrew. We had fun with the kids taking them into Gatlinburg, and we took them to Ripley's Aquarium. They had the best time in the pool. We also took them to the Knoxville zoo. They had so much fun petting the goats and brushing them.

On June 29, 2011 (5 days past his due date) Hunter Thomas entered the world. He was 8 lbs 10.5 oz and 22 in long. Tavin and Riley had been very excited to meet him. They had been talking for months about how they loved him and wanted to play with him. He is a great addition to our family.

So for now, this is our family.....
